“Every secret of a writer’s soul, every experience of his life,
every quality of his mind is written large in his works.”
“Masterpieces are not single and solitary births;
they are the outcome of many years of thinking in common,
of thinking by the body of the people, so that the experience
of the mass is behind the single voice.”
“The history of men’s opposition to women’s emancipation
is more interesting perhaps than the story of that emancipation
itself.”
~ Virginia Woolf (1882-1941)
I guess we were on a same inspirational wave length:
In fact, when I saw your red dress collection, I wanted to put Virginia in one (though it really may be inappropriate for her mood).
I definitely want to re-visit this piece…she so much more pretty than I’ve originally portrayed her…..

The pic I posted is one of the more flattering ones I’ve seen of her. Did you see “The Hours,” with Nicole Kidman as Woolf? She definitely had a nose!

I did see that movie…and it was a well-done make-up job…
MUCH better job than Jane Fonda (not even close) and Judy Davis (eh, at least not as Hollywood as Fonda) did of Lillian Hellman….
Two recent films I saw –“Julia” and “Dash and Lilly” (TV)– sent me off to “do Lilly.”
What a surprise there!

I thought “The Hours” was so well-done and was baffled — but not surprised — to hear an anchorman saying, in a short news piece about the movie’s release, that he doesn’t understand for the life of him why Nicole Kidman would want to put on that prosthetic, that the entire idea is to be SEEN and known as the superstar she is.
There’s this little thing called “acting,” which I guess is a news flash to him.
I love that last quote in particular, Jama.
Jules, who hates being behind on your blog, which I am, but I hope to get caught up today

That anchorman sounds incredibly bright, doesn’t he? I feel like renting “The Hours” from Netflix now :).

Live, love, laugh – and then write about it.
